Where do we go from here????

I'm ready to start planning the next trip and wanted to get a general consensus of what everyone would be up for; options being:

a. Whitewater Kayak Trip
b. Boundry Waters Canoe Trip
c. Lazy River Trip
d. Long Distance Trip
e. Hiking/Camping Trip
f. Rock Climbing/Camping Trip

Let me know what your thoughts are as I am willing to do any of the above! I am working on putting a calender together so that we can plan multiple trips this year, and feel free to invite any friends and coworkers along, the more we can get involved the better!

I need some advice...

Friends,
I've never asked for help from you guys before, but I really need your advice on what could be a crucial decision. I've suspected for some time now that my girlfriend has been cheating on me. The usual signs... Phone rings but if I answer, the caller hangs up. My girlfriend has been going out with the girls a lot recently although when I ask their names she always says, "Just some friends from work, you don't know them." I always stay awake to look out for her taxi coming home, but she always walks down the drive, although I can hear a car setting off, as if she has gotten out of the car round the corner. Why? Maybe she wasn't in a taxi? I once picked her cell phone up just to see what time it was and she went berserk and screamed that I should never touch her phone again and why was I checking up on her. Anyway, I have never broached the subject with my girlfriend. I think deep down I just didn't want to know the truth, but last night she went out again and I decided to really check on her.
I decided I was going to park my Harley Davidson Deuce next to the garage and then hide behind it so I could get a good view of the whole street when she comes home. It was at that moment, crouching behind my Harley, that I noticed that the rocker boxes on my engine seem to be leaking a little oil.
So, my big question is this: is this something I can fix myself or should I take it back to the dealer?

Straight River

When George Washington, or Abe Lincoln, (or whoever he was) named this river he hit the nail on the head! This is no water-way for dainty, girlymen to travel on!

We hit three sets of class II-III rapids along our 23 mile trip. 64/83'rds of us spent 3/4's of our time 68% wet and 74.3% cold; which equates to this river being 100% all Alpha Male! We camped under the stars, as tents are for fairies and housewives. I think the most girly thing that happened on the trip was that Matt had to pee sitting down, and only because he was too drunk from drinking SoCo straight out of the bottle for 12 hours! (Now that's a man in my book!)

Bill talked about doing this river again, but only if he could take steroids a few weeks before we take off. He must have been drunk because he was talking about doing a longer route, in less time, and with less gear! I'm up for it, but only if I can get a tatoo afterwards! Bill, keep an eye on the water levels and let us all know when you are ready to do it all over again!

Riding the Florida Keys

I flew into Miami last Sunday, planning on doing some recon work for future winter bike trips with the guys. Leaving the big city on my rented Road King, the girlfriend and I putted through the Florida Turnpike and the Everglades on our way to the Southernmost point in the U.S.; Key West.

The pictures explain what words can't. The ocean was blue, the wind was warm and moist. Everywhere you stopped was a cold beer and fresh Mahi-Mahi, Tuna, Snapper, Oysters, and Lobster pulled fresh from the sea minutes before.

The ride was a split between road and bridge. You see, the keys are a string of tropical islands that go on for about 100 miles that are linked together with bridges; some short, the longest being 7 miles. The temps were in the upper 70's and lower 80's. I can't imagine a better Winter trip for us boys (and maybe the girls) next year.

Update: New date for April Meeting!!!

The meeting that was planned for April 4th is off!! New date to be determined!

In other news: There has been some conversation between Aaron and Matt regarding an early season trip down the Cobb River! Sounds like rapids from class II to Class III; excellent early season kayak trip if you ask me... or Matt!

Stay tuned for further details.......

Flood Run 2009

Ryan and I went on the Flood Run in 2007 and we both had an awesome time! This year the flood run takes place on April 18th and starts in Hudson, Wisconsin and ends in Winona, MN. All types of Riders and Bikes are welcome. This is a great early season ride with a bar stop every 40 miles along the St. Criox and Mississippi River Valley's. If any of you are up for it you can crash at my place the night before and we can leave Bloomington to get an early start for one of the most popular rides of the year. Check out the link on the right for more information!

Climbing/Biking Trip

A small group of my climbing friends and I are heading out to the Black Hills for the weekend of July 18th to climb in the Needles and Mount Rushmore area's of South Dakota. This area hosts a variety of climbs from easy to expert, camp sites, local biker bars, and some of the best riding in the midwest. It would be awesome to ride out to the Black Hills on the Bikes (we could send our gear with my friends), climb for a day or two, then putt around the Black Hills. We are probably looking at a 4-5 day trip, but if enough of you riders are interested this could be the best trip of the year! If anyone thinks this might work for them, let me know!
